Script Writing for a Crowdfunding Campaign

Case: Script Writing for Crowdfunding campaign

Video design and script by Nicola Dunklin (I even helped him choose his shirt!)

The success of the re-written website allowed the owner to follow his dream and open an outlet in Cambridge. We decided to opt for crowd funding and after researching, opted for Kickstarters.

Hurdles:

  • The brand was relatively unknown in the area
  • Cambridge is one of the most expensive locations he could have chosen
  • The budget was ‘toy sized’

After establishing aims and defining goals, I created a story board. Next, I wrote a script to tell a logical, sequential story in the perfect ‘voice’ to represent the brand. The film needed to stay ‘on brand’, portratying the brand message of a magical toy shop and invoking excitement. On a subliminal level, I wanted to make people believe in the project. We chose The Cambridge Filmworks, an excellent choice, the guys ‘got it’.

The aims:

  • Raise awareness
  • Raise funds

The Results:

The film achieved both.
